Probable Pale-footed Bush Warbler @ Ng Tung Chai

In addition to the other good birds a more tricky record . . . one probable Pale-footed Bush Warbler at Ng Tung Chai. � The bird was seen about 500 m above the temple where the path bends before a steep flight of rocky stairs.
It should be noted that this is a difficult bird to identify, and the date is extremely unusual for this species.
The following features were noted:
Superficially similar to Asian Stubtail, but with a longer, slimmer body and a clearly longer, square-ended tail, which it cocked.
Also a strong head pattern like Asian Stubtail, with a strong white 坟upercilium and dark eyestripe, but with a longer bill with a pale pinkish base.
the most likely confusion species is Mountain Bush Warbler (also with the horrible new name of Brownish-flanked Bush Warbler), but that bird is generally more uniform greyish brown and lacks the strong contrast 䰄n the head pattern. Also it has a rounded tail.
I would welcome any comment from those experienced with this species. 狢 will submit a description to the Records committee for formal consideration.
