This morning a pair (female and first winter male) of Siberian Thrush were found in a fruiting fig tree on Kwun Yam Shan at the top of Kadoorie Farm by Captain and Preston, and showed well at 10am. These birds are migrants which are taking advantage of the good feeding oportunities of the small figs, offering an excellent opportunity to photograph them. This species is not yet included in the photo guide so any photographers could take the opportunity to add one species to the photo guide! Cheers Mike

Preston of KFBG said that it is the first record of KFBG. They may still there for a couple of days as the tree is still fruiting.

This is a good record but by no means the first for KFBG. Several have been trapped there in the past - ref The Avifauna of Hong Kong. Best regards Mike Leven

The birds (M+F) were still there this morning! KFBG 13/10/2004 10D 400DO p.s. Can't add this to the second print of the Photographic Guide. Still, very pleased to see both of them.
