Last Thursday was my raptors' day at Mai Po. I believe I saw eight different species of them! It has been immensely satisfying and certeinly intensified my interest in them. Given a very good day, I decided to try my luck again this morning. But was a bit disappointed since most of them cannot be seen again. Today was very misty, could this the reason why the raptors did not like to fly?? Anyway, here is a list of what I recorded last Thursday: - Black-Eared Kite: 12+ - Common Buzzard: 5 - Imperial Eagle: 1 adult, 2 juvenile - Spotted Eagle: 1 adult, 2 juvenile (or youngs) - Bonelli's Eagle: 1 adult, 2 juvenile - Kestrel: 2 - Peregrine Falcon: 1 - Osprey: 1 To help myself identify them in the future, I have created an online album for each species. You are welcome to visit it and correct me if I have identified anything incorrectly. I must admit that most of these are not good photos, mainly for identifications only. Here is the url for the album: http://www.pbase.com/anguslau/raptor_id
