Dear all, So we can add Temminck's Cormorant 1 and Grey Phalarope 1+ to the Po Toi record of 17 April 2005. For the Temminck's Cormorant records, I suggest people who have noted it earlier should report their sightings as well, so that we have a more complete history of its presence in HK this year. Also I would suspect that it may be presence at other locations as well. Please check all cormorants rocky shores and islands. HF Cheung

The Temminck's Cormorant was at Po Toi on April 16 with a Purple Heron.

We hired a boat and circle around the waters between Po Toi and Waglan from 8-11am today (23/4/05). Very light south-easternly wind and foggy esp around Waglan Long-tailed Skua x 1 Red-necked Phalarope ~ 50 in small groups White-bellied Sea-eagle x 1 Blue Rock Thrush x 1 Reef Egrets x 4 The Temminck's Cormorant has gone - leaving its poo mark on the rock as a memory.... And worst of all - no migratory passerine on Po Toi.

Here is some of the photos we took. The last photo showed the whitish patch of droppings probably left over by the Temminck's Cormorant where it perched for days. It's a pity that it has left so soon. Canon300D 300mm F4/1.4x

This is the only decent photo of the long-tailed skua I got. Sitting at the front of boat, it is quite difficult to get the object inside the frame and focus.... that is my excuse 23/4/2005 Po Toi 20D+400DO
