Thanks Rex for preparing the trip report. I also would like to say thank you to CHAN Ming Ming, Carrie MA & Miranda CHAN for being as the leaders of today outing. At the end of birding season, the bird nos. is very low and the temperature is quite hot. However, we still have 9 members & 7 non-members jointing today's Mai Po outing. At the Pond 16 & 17, we saw Two Oriental Pratincoles, at least 15 Black-faced Spoonbills and two babies of Black-winged Stilt. Regards, Forrest

| I saw it sitting among the Curlew, Plover & Sandpiper at the island near Hide No. 7 but I think that it should be a Little Tern as it was as big as a Plover just next to it and the black pattern extends to its forehead. Regards, Forrest

| We saw 4 black-winged stilt babies in Carrie's group. The parents chased off EVERY bird that went near the babies.

Dear little_dolphin Thanks for the effort of posting the record on the bulletin board. I am afraid the "Black-naped Tern" should be a Night Heron at the board-walk hide, and the Lesser Sand Plover at pond no. 16/17 should be Greater Sand Plover. By the way, 灰喜雀 should be 灰喜鵲. Regards Carrie

Dear Forrest and Carrie, Thanks for your information. The list was updated. For the black-naped tern, I heard Mr. Chan Ming Ming said he saw one above the mudflats before Carrie arrived in the hide. I didn't see it myself though. With regards, Rex

Dear all, I am sorry that the Black-naped Tern should be a 'mistake'! It was also wrongly claimed in previous Mai Po outing. A first summer Little Tern is staying in Mai Po quite a long time already. I still saw it last Thursday. Tung
