Phalaropes in Shing Mun River 紅頸瓣蹼鷸於城門河

This morning (8.30- 10.00am), around 4-5 flocks of red-necked phalaropes flew along Shing Mun River (near Penfold Park) during the typhoon signal no.3.
About 40 in each flock. They all flew in the direction of the wind, from Ma On Shan to Tai Wai.
At 10.30am, after half an hour, a heavy downpour with strong wind arrived.
2 flocks of waders. I guess the lower are red-necked phalaropes. but how about the upper??  Any suggestions? Thanks!

In the afternoon (15:00-16:00), there were still 20 floating on the water.

在9月24日晚上, 我於中環皇后碼頭對開海面亦見有鳥群在海上飄浮, 飛起時見其腹和翼都是灰白色, 形似燕子, 由於是夜晚而未能看清楚, 未知是否也是此鳥呢??

香 港 觀 鳥 會 主 席 張 浩 輝 表 示 ， 紅 頸 瓣 蹼 鷸 罕 有 地 在 城 門 河 區 域 出 現 ， 預 計 與 該 處 的 水 質 改 善 有 關 ， 令 牠 們 覺 得 不 再 「 污 糟 」 。
逾 百 隻 在 河 畔 覓 食
生 態 教 育 及 資 源 中 心 總 監 程 詩 灝 於 上 周 六 發 現 紅 頸 瓣 蹼 鷸 的 蹤 ， 本 周 一 時 更 看 見 為 數 過 百 隻 在 河 畔 覓 食 ， 他 表 示 ， 上 次 在 城 門 河 見 到 牠 們 已 是 六 、 七 年 前 的 事 ， 由 於 此 鳥 類 為 過 境 候 鳥 ， 他 預 計 數 天 後 就 會 遷 離 此 處 。
香 港 觀 鳥 會 主 席 張 浩 輝 稱 ， 紅 頸 瓣 蹼 鷸 常 見 於 本 港 海 邊 ， 如 吐 露 港 口 及 塔 門 等 地 方 ， 間 中 亦 會 在 塱 原 及 米 埔 出 現 。
疑 受 暴 雨 颱 風 影 響
張 浩 輝 表 示 ， 該 批 海 鳥 今 次 在 城 門 河 的 內 陸 位 置 出 現 絕 對 是 「 好 事 」 ， 除 了 與 近 日 多 暴 雨 及 颱 風 有 關 ， 令 牠 們 找 尋 寧 靜 的 避 風 港 外 ； 亦 可 能 是 因 為 城 門 河 近 年 的 水 質 改 善 ， 吸 引 海 鳥 前 來 覓 食 。
紅 頸 瓣 蹼 鷸 因 腳 趾 有 像 花 瓣 一 樣 的 蹼 ， 在 夏 季 繁 殖 期 時 ， 前 頸 呈 栗 紅 色 ， 故 有 此 名 。

其實每年9月份過境時,在城門河(近車公廟一段)都有一定數量的紀錄,直至多年前 該區展開河道工程後就似乎沒有再出現了
隨著工程的完結,紅頸瓣蹼鷸再現城門河...可喜可賀
