Eat Sleep Bird!!     Gender: Posts: 272 Schrenick's Bittern in school campus 在校園裡遇到紫背葦鳽 « on: Oct 12th, 2005, 6:32pm » Quote Modify At around 10.15am this morning, a female/ juvenile Schrenick's Bittern was discovered in my school.(Heep Yunn School in Kowloon) It was at the corner of the corrider near a water pipe. Observed in close distance.(about 1 m) Size: small and could be overlooked. a little bigger than a black-necked starling Plumage: very dark streaks on its neck. The back was in dark brown/ black with tiny white spots. Legs: yellow with long toes Standing pose: neck was straight and upright (a frightened bittern look) The bird was too dark to be a yellow bittern. I thought of Cinnamon Bittern but it wasn't brown/ chestnut at all.
