At Ping Long in Lam Tsuen I've had a brain-fever call warming up since February 2- earliest I've ever heard. I'm not convinced it is a Large hawk Cuckoo but I don't know what would be imitating it so well- Crested Mynah? It is always just at dawn, tries a few calls and then shuts up for the rest of the day.
Koels have been calling since last Tuesday (7 Feb).

Koel was calling at Shouson Hill,opposite HK Country Club today , near a Magpie nest. The Magpie swooped down and drove the Koel away.Neil
