Black Kites with sticks

Photographed on Lamma today. There were two kites flying around together carrying sticks. They seemed to be biting bits off the sticks. Is this part of a mating ritual. Neil.

Nice photo! Black Kite stick carrying could be a courtship behavior, keep on the good observation.

Oh and I saw one individual picked up tissue paper from the ground... on 27/1/06, Lamma Island as well ~
