Mai Po - New floating hide

You may have read in the newspaper today (Monday, 20 Jan) that Mai Po is planning to build a new floating hide further out into Deep Bay so that even on a "low" high-tide (e.g. 1.7 m), visitors can still have close-up views of the waterbirds in the Bay. We are proposing that the hide will be at the tip of the line of mangroves to the right of the existing floating hides.
It will need some HK$1 million to HK$1.5 million to build the hide and boardwalk going out to it, and it has been agreed that 10% of the money rasied from this year's Big Bird Race will go towards the funds to build the hide. (The other 90% of the money raised will go to cover the annual running costs for Mai Po). Apart from raising the money to build the hide, we also need to get permission from the Government to build it, and that will likely take quite some time.
Anyhow, I would like to thanks in adavnce, all the HKBWS members will will be helping with this year's BBR and to raise funds for the hide.
