這是令人驚、喜和悲交雜的報導。
先來說喜的，該學校有小鳥前往繁殖，相信是難得的一個好題材。其實學校可以充 份利用這機會，鼓勵學生參與生態資料記錄、作為討論、寫作、美術等題材。教育 署去年 (還是前年?記不起了) 製作了一輯以鳥類為寫作題材的教育電視，名為「我要高飛」內容富有意義，不妨 多作參考。
「驚」的是該報導展示了兩張插圖，如下(連結自明報網頁)。請停一停、想一想才 繼續看下去，是甚麼原因？
 
看了會否感到校方對這環節的教育方面是否準備充足？這麼多學生「包圍」在鳥巢 下面，會攘成甚麼後果呢？答案是繁殖中的親鳥會放棄繁殖、甚至放棄鳥巢或幼雛 。
這是否有關方面沒有考慮的這重要的一點，還是新聞報導者刻意要求學生營造的圖 片效果呢？這張圖片對公眾的影響可以很深遠，至少會使讀者誤以為人和鳥是可以 很「親近」，又或以好奇為理由而走近鳥巢觀察。
其實所有雀鳥都是很怕人的，這樣可以導致牠們不會回來繁殖。去年有報導西貢燕 鷗小島已有類似情況發生。這無疑是值得思考，無論是校方或是傳播媒體，對於這 些敏感的題材應妥善處理，讓自然保育的知識能有效灌輸。

Urbanization changes behaviour of many bird species, in particular to those living in cities.
Let's think why they build their nest under the umbrella, rather than trees in the countryside.
Do the school provide a predator free environment for them to raise their babies?
Do the school provide a competitor free environment for them to raise their babies?
Do the school provide constant food supply to them? E.g. left over food or fruit trees
Are the parents inexperience to choose suitable nesting sites?
On the other hand
If they build their nest in school, they have to worry about the human activities including naughty school kids around.
So, the decision of building their nest under umbrella made by the parents already shows that they have treated all these factors and may conclude that a safe nesting place is more important than human activities, given that the naughty school kids will not turn it upside down.
Pls also note that there is no constant rule in ecology.

不知道鳥兒考慮了甚麼？
也不知道學校的環境是怎樣？
更不知道鳥兒是否刻意在眾多活潑好奇的小學生頭上築巢？
只想知道在相片中眾多小學生刻意圍著鳥巢觀看是否正確？
我更想知道是小學生們自己要這樣圍著觀看，還是記者安排的？希望不會是學校安 排的！
只知道在一般情況，鳥兒選擇在一些被人們棄置或甚少利用的地方築巢，當鳥巢被 發現後，好奇及有愛心的人們便時時刻刻接近圍觀，熱鬧起來！沙洲的中華白海豚 便是其中一個例子。
"There is no constant rule in ecology" 大家都知道是正確及要留意！
但在這刻說這句話是否有其他意思嗎？
