Chinese Fishing Boats in Deep Bay

If anyone sees Chinese fishing boats operating in the Inner Deep Bay Ramsar site, please report details (including number of boats & any boat registration numbers) to Mr CL Wong of AFCD <cl_wong@afcd.gov.hk>. I saw a fleet of 18 such boats very close to the Tsim Tsui pier during the Waterbird count on 9th November. They played a game of cat & mouse with the Marine Police. When a Marine Police speedboat was present, the Chinese fishing boats stayed on the Shenzhen side of the bay, when the speedboat left, they moved in together and laid out long lines of tubular nets, and then when the Marine Police returned, they moved back into Shenzhen waters. The disturbance meant there were no ducks in that part of the bay. Thanks Richard

I was there in the afternoon on the same day. The tubular nets were extremely long and were laid just beside the pier. Three BFS were walking around the area and luckily there's no fish hook attached to the nets. May AFCD take some actions?
