This weekend, two illegal bird nets were found at Cheung Po, near Kam Tin. As well as several commoner species found dead, one net contained the remains of a greater painted-snipe. Both nets also contained dead fruit bats. At least 7 more painted-snipe were present in nearby fields and are surely at risk of also being caught in the nets. The incident will be reported to AFCD for action.

My suggestion is to write to AFCD to take action. The fax no. is 2377 4427, contact person: Mr Wong at cl_wong@afcd.gov.hk. It would be better to include a map together with your fax.
