send your digital postcard to the European Commission to
ask for a better future for nature and farming in Europe!

Farmland birds and other wildlife continue to decline in Europe's Countryside because of intensive farming practices. Our natural heritage will be lost forever without further changes towards a more sustainable rural agriculture.
The new European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, who is due to be appointed in September 2004, will play a big role in keeping our countryside alive. He/she will be the driving force behind the future of our agricultural and rural policy and the guardian of its implementation in the European Union for the next coming years.
Request a better future for nature and farming in the Europe Union!
Ask the European Commissioner to :
Support farming methods that contribute to maintaining and restoring rich wildlife areas in Europe, and
Increase the overall funding available for nature-friendly farming practices. by signing and sending one of the beautiful postcards that you can find on BirdLife Farming for Life internetsite.
The digital postcards are collected by BirdLife International and will be handed over to the new Commissioner when he/she starts his/her mandate at the end of this year.
