Mudskipper Collectors at MP mudflat again 花魚佬再現

In this morning at around 10:30am, two mudskipper collectors appeared suddenly at the right hand side of the mudflat. Although they knew that some birders were inside the boardwalk, they still slided "freely" across the mudflat at less than 100m in front of the boardwalk. The wader feeding at the mudflat of course were frightened by them and flew away.

A never ending story and is like playing cat and mouse ... But most important of all where is our 'cats' these days? I used to see police checking out the boardwalk hides in the early part of mornings, both for the WWF ones and HKBWS on the left. But I have NOT seen this happening for a long long time now. I wonder what gives?! KK Hui ARPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001

Thanks Forrest for the notice about the illegal fishermen. The WWF HK staff will be out tomorrow morning to check for any illegal nets or mudskipper traps on the mudflat, and we'll destroy/confiscate any that we find. We'll also start to go out and check more frequently because we all don't want a repeat of what happened last year. Unfortunately, we don't have any rights to arrest the fishermen......we just have to leave that to the AFCD /police. Lew Young
