「啄羊鸚鵡」這種動物大家可能聞所未聞，但如果大家有看過電影《魔戒三部曲》 ，就會對牠不感陌生。啄羊鸚鵡是世界上最具智慧的飛鳥，牠們棲居於新西蘭亞爾 卑斯山南部，蟲為主要食糧，但偶爾也會向當地綿羊埋手，啄穿羊背以汲取腎脂作 甜品。
除了會啄羊取脂外，聰明的啄羊鸚鵡還喜歡到處破壞，更會盜竊謀殺；牠們行動的 手法完全是智慧的表現。然而，啄羊鸚鵡現正瀕臨絕種邊緣，為什麼？有見及此， 當地政府立例保護啄羊鸚鵡，能湊效嗎？牠們的智慧能讓牠們掙回生存空間嗎？
How Curiosity saved Keas from the brink of extinction?
Keas are the world's only alpine parrots. Playful, ultra-smart and above all, resourceful, they are reputed to be the world's most intelligent birds. They live among the snowy peaks of New Zealand's Southern Alps, a spectacular landscape made famous by Hollywood's Lord of the Rings Trilogy. At these altitudes food is hard to come by and the Kea's survival depends on being curious, bold and quick on the update.
