I have met Mr. Harry Huyton of RSBP, a delegate from UK at the WTO meeting in HK. He pointed out that current practice in subsidizing the fishery industry is harming the protecting of seabirds, beacuse the current practive encourage over fishing. That has already happened in several places in the world. The other issue is on timber trade. He mentioned that one policy to slow down cutting of wood is to impose a tax on timber export. That would discourage extensive cutting of forest for timber export. HF Cheung
