Illegal Mudskipper collector 又有花魚婆

Today at 0730 on 13th July 2006 a lady mudskipper collector was in Deep Bay with mudskipper traps. She was along the musflats and in the mangroves between the WWF hide and the HKBWS hide. As well she was seen entering the mangroves to the right of the WWF hides.
Neil Fifer & I found one trap on the boardwalk, which we removed.
A report was made to Mr Wong Che Lok, AFCD. He reported that a joint operation was carried between the Police and AFCD on Monday 10th July, but no trappers were found. He said that he would follow up this report

I had a follow up call from Lok Ma Chau Police Station, they immediately sent a tem to the location, after receiving a report from AFCD warden. Unfortunately they were unable to locate the mudskipper collector

Bob's story is reported on Apple Daily today. CL Wong of AFCD said it is illegal to fish at MPNR but the taking of mudskippers by itself is not against the law.

【 記 者 蔡 元 貴 報 道 】 后 海 灣 是 鳥 的 天 堂 ， 也 是 內 地 漁 民 的 搵 食 勝 地 。 位 於 米 埔 一 帶 的 拉 姆 薩 爾 濕 地 是 法 定 禁 區 ， 禁 止 一 切 捕 獵 活 動 ， 但 一 年 四 季 ， 總 有 內 地 人 非 法 入 境 ， 前 來 這 作 業 ， 最 常 見 的 就 是 「 花 魚 婆 」 ， 即 專 門 滑 泥 板 捕 捉 彈 塗 魚 的 內 地 女 子 。 觀 鳥 會 成 員 Bob Thompson 前 日 早 上 在 后 海 灣 觀 鳥 時 ， 發 現 一 名 花 魚 婆 在 沼 澤 上 滑 來 滑 去 ， 仿 似 風 馳 電 掣 的 電 單 車 手 ， 可 惜 報 警 後 花 魚 婆 已 逃 之 夭 夭 。
警 到 場 已 逃 之 夭 夭
Bob 說 ， 前 天 見 到 該 名 花 魚 婆 在 沼 澤 上 放 下 多 個 竹 籠 ， 捕 捉 彈 塗 魚 。 一 段 時 間 後 ， 就 收 集 竹 籠 ， 把 魚 穫 倒 進 泥 板 的 膠 桶 內 。 Bob 已 即 時 報 警 ， 但 警 方 到 場 時 花 魚 婆 已 逃 之 夭 夭 了 。
漁 農 自 然 護 理 署 濕 地 及 動 物 護 理 主 任 黃 始 樂 說 ， 在 保 育 地 區 捕 魚 是 違 法 ， 又 會 滋 擾 候 鳥 ， 但 捕 捉 花 魚 本 身 並 非 違 例 。 彈 塗 魚 在 內 地 俗 稱 花 魚 ， 並 非 受 保 護 動 物 。 花 魚 可 供 食 用 ， 在 元 朗 流 浮 山 一 帶 街 市 也 有 出 售 ， 約 二 十 元 一 斤 ， 通 常 用 作 煲 湯 及 以 椒 鹽 烹 調 ， 由 於 泥 味 太 重 ， 在 港 不 受 歡 迎 。 花 魚 婆 的 泥 板 駕 駛 技 術 相 當 老 練 ， 漁 護 署 曾 多 次 聯 同 警 方 採 取 聯 合 行 動 ， 但 成 功 拘 捕 的 個 案 極 少 。
