Invitation to Press Conference Safeguard the Frontier Closed Area, the Last Frontier of Hong Kong Biological Diversity On Friday, 7 May 2004, Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) will release a full report of ‘A Pilot Biodiversity Study of the eastern Frontier Closed Area and North East New Territories’. The Study was conducted by a team of KFBG ecologists between June and December 2003 at Lin Ma Hang and San Kwai Tin in the Frontier Closed Area (FCA), and Kuk Po, So Lo Pun and Yung Shue Au in North East New Territories (NENT). The Study highlights the rich biodiversity of these biological hotspots. Any unplanned development of these areas will threaten this habitat and destroy the home of some of the last individuals of Hong Kong’s rarest species. In the press conference on 7 May 2004, the KFBG conservation staff will announce the key findings of Study, and present the recommendations to conserve the ecological hotspots identified. You are cordially invited to come to attend the press conference. Detail arrangement of the press conference is as follows: Date : Friday, 7 May 2004 Time: 11:00am Venue: Room 1114, Hong Kong Scout Centre, Scout Path, Austin Road, Hong Kong For further information, please contact Ms Idy Wong, KFBG Education Manager, at 2483 7103 or 9883 4760.
