1. GRIPPING YARNS By Bill Oddie's Over 60 of Bill Oddie's tales of the ups, downs, highs, lows and thrills of birding. It covers such diverse subjects as bird racing in Hong Kong to a birder's dietary requirements. The Hong Kong Bird Race , April 1990 from the view of Bill with his friend Martin. Bird of the day was 'Blyth's Pipit'. A very interesting book. 2. A PASSION FOR BIRDS By Tony Soper There are major, specially written chapters on a wide range bird topics like discovering birds, ticking & twitching, courtship & family life, flight & behavior of birds... The book is magnificently illustrated , beautiful photos, largely in colour. I like the style Tony Soper wrote this book. 3. INTRODUCTION TO BIRDWATCHING By Bill Oddie's Ideal for beginners, packed with useful hints and tips and written in Bill's unique, approachable style. Even the complete newcomer will find identifying birds easy, learn about what to look out for and how to find out more. If you are a beginner or you want to encourage and inspire a new birdwatcher, this is the book. I started birding with this book. Betty
