Reducing sharpening halos 如何減少銳化數碼照片產生的光暈

As some of you aware, I have been plagued by this problem and have tried hard to overcome it. With the help from experts such as kk, I believe I have got it under control now. The above thread discussed a number of methods to deal with the problem. I currently mainly go with an easy way: I use the Intellisharpen II tool developed by Fred Miranda. It produces very little halo for dark subjects against light BG. But it doesn't do so well with white subjects against dark BG. So I still need to use other methods such as history brush for some situations. And this tool is not free. Hope this information is useful to some.
