Recruitment of bird surveyors 徵求鳥類普查員

Dear members,
Tai Po Environmental Association (TPEA) will implement a management scheme at Fung Yuen. Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) will help to conduct a section of bird monitoring for the scheme. It is a 2-year bird monitoring programme. We would like to recruit members interesting to help this task. Subsidy will be provided to surveyor(s). Details are listed below:
Survey area:
Fung Yuen Road, Fung Yuen Village (Lo Wai and Mak Uk), Fung Yuen Valley SSSI (accessible area)
Month of survey:
2005: Nov; 2006: Feb, May, Aug, Nov; 2007: Feb May Aug
Requirement:
- Surveyor(s) must be HKBWS member(s).
- Survey will be performed by qualified bird surveyor(s).
- Qualified surveyors must be able to identify 200 species of local birds.
- Each survey is set to complete within 3 hours in the morning.
- Surveyors submit records of bird species and numbers of each survey in excel format.
- Survey record and short report will be submitted to TPEA in quarterly basis.
- Interim report will be submitted in the first year.
- Final report will be submitted after the completion of all surveys.
- All reports above must be submitted within 1 month after each survey.
