An Australian DNA study found that 1 out of every 6 Black Swans is not the genetic offspring of its “father”.

I used to photograph Black Swans on the local lakes near where I lived in Sydney. I often saw a third bird around during the nesting season that was continually being chased off. Maybe he got lucky sometimes.Neil.
