KK, nornally I would agree, that it is better not to have a man-made sign in the shot BUT in this case the video is on the Wetland Compensation Study Field Trials and to show that the Kingfisher is actually at Pond 15 I needed to show part of the signboard or otherwise I could use any of the stockshots of Kingfishers that I have collected. Incidently I saw this bird sitting on a tree branch, around the pond, the day before and waited all day hoping it would go to the signboard but no luck. On the following day after about a 4 hour wait it perched on the sign. As we all know bird photography is all about patience and a lot of GOOD LUCK Bob

Shenzen River Ponds (next to Mai Po Nature Reserve)?the Wetland Compensation Study Field Trials?? Pond 15 Ah! I get some ideas .... You are talking about the fishponds at Lok Ma Chau area. That is the area where KCRC will build the terminal for the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line which is totally unnecessary. Althought the fishponds are within the Wetland Conservation Area, no proper compensation is provided to the loss of wetland. I also understand why you need to include such ugly man-made sign (no. 15) in your photo instead of showing your stockshot of kingfishers without the sign. It seems that you are producing evidences that birds are using the so-called "improved" fishponds. I hope it is not part of your job to post such great photo (showing KCRC's project) in the HKBWS's BBS.
