708.5 Eurasian Collared Dove 灰斑鳩 Fung Lok Wai (Tsim Bei Tsui) 豐樂圍 (尖鼻咀) 23/2/2003 L77 + 995 Two Eurasian Collared Doves were seen at the fishponds near the bridge. They have similar size with Spotted Dove but their body color are very plain & even lighter than the Red Collar Dove. [plate 29 A Field Guide to the Birds of China]

Another good way to separate the two species is that Red Turtle Dove is small and has a shorter tail. - Also a good way to separate from Spooted dove if the birdis faraway or in silhouette. Cheers Mike

Tsim Bei Tsui 尖鼻咀, mid December, 2002. Contrast slightly exaggerated. www.geocities.com/hbirdk/KITEandDOVE.JPG I think this bird is also a Collared Dove. It has been around for a while. It probably becomes a resident bird in Tsim Bei Tsui.
