Dear John, I'm not sure because I found it in a stream course. It was climbing away from the water and it's as large as a little dog, >40cm.

Hi Lynx Nice photo. I agree with John. Look at the short bill and long black tail. Many birds can be found close to streams because them come to drink water there. Cheers Mike
