Camera: At home, calibrate the diopter adjustment in the camera's viewfinder to ensure that any long-sightness/short-sightness of your preferred eye would be compensated.   2. Tripod: Fasten your tripod to ensure that the camera is 100% fixed without moving during focusing   3. Focus-bracketing: Try different focusing positions and fire as many shots as you can before the bird flies away   4. I just took photo in the "water fall" where there are may old bicyles.   I also took the photo at the trees near the main nullah.  There are better chance of more birds at the upstream of the river within the village.  However, recently the district office is carrying out footpath and bridge construction works around the upstream river and all the birds are scared off, except some crested bulbul. There might be a better chance of seeing birds in the early morning.
