A poor quality shot (due to heavy cropping) of a WBSE seen over MPNR this morning.

Why?
Osprey is a smaller raptor compares to WBSE. The lack of a broad black band through eye to nape as shown clearly in this photo suggests it is NOT an Osprey. Furthermore, WBSE soars with wings held in a shallow V-shape!!!

Just to back KK up, this is undoubtedly a WBSE and not an Osprey. Wingshape, body shape and several plumage features make that quite clear.
Perhaps a "poor quality shot" by your exceptionally high standards, KK, but still a very useful one.

I insisted that it is a Osprey  because its long norrow wings are bent back at the wrist, like gull's.We can also see the necklace clearly.

Another shot of the same bird taken at a slightly different angle a few seconds after the last one ...
There is no doubt in my mind that it was a WBSE!

Well said Sam,
I think we all owe "Hui Sir" and all the other excellent bird photographers a vote of thanks.
It certainly makes learning bird identification a lot easier to be able to see excellent telephoto shots and as well through the photographers artistry we are able to admire how beatiful nature really is.

Much I appreciated your support, my heart soared when I read your messages above. As I said in the other thread, birding and photography are really inseparable. It just happens that I’m more on the photography side and still a lot to learn from experienced birders on bird identification as a whole ...
