The face is white because it is a young bird. Mike

Thanks for sharing. But is there any reference book/material about the white face? I would like to know more about the transition due to aging. I cannot find any material on internet or books I have. That was the first time I saw a white-faced moorhen. The white area on the face was so large that it looked quite different from the other moorhens. Furthermore, its size was as large as the other moorhens too. So, it is quite interesting to know when the transition starts.
