Glad to know there is a pair of breeding WBSE in the relative safe place. Hope your Kite Group can keep an eye on them and report on their successful breeding.

Great shots here............ I have a question... I recently returned to my home in the Tampa Bay area of Florida from a trip to Southeast Asia. (Hong Kong, Thailand etc) I am curious as to the name of the prominent eagle/hawk (raptor) commonly seen soaring over the city and coastline. It is large bird with a concave shape to the tail when seen in flight. Larger than our redtail hawk. What a beautiful place and one I cannot wait to return to for the birding experience, as well as the most interesting culture and sights The Sheko area was phenominal birding locale! Thanks for the help, as I have little to no knowledge of the identification of asian birds..........North American birds- yes, Asian- no

They are Black-eared Kites, the most common raptor in Hong Kong. You can find out more about them from here (also by Etta, who took the photo on this page): http://netta.cyberec.com/kite/index/engfmst.htm
