請問相片中,鳥的四週出現比較淡色的『暈』帶,而右下角的顏色又突然變暗了, 是甚麼原因呢?

| I do NOT see, on my CRT mon, any dark area on the lower right corner you're talking about Suggest you have you mon checked ... It's the rim light at the trailing edge of the wings that you're seeing not halo artifacts! Remember the subject was backlit and the edge of the bird's primaries and secondaries is lighter in color. So is the tail ... kk Hui ARPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001

Wow! Its fantastic! Much better than mine... Great wing span and details, extremely sharp!!! Now I understand why you suggested me to use 1.4x instead of 2x converter. The backlighting really works well here, giving it an almost surreal look. Also love the head turn and the spreaded primaries... I also seem to "see" some halo surrounding the bird at first look... but after examining it more carefully, I think it is an illusion of the eye rather than a real halo.

| REPLY: Thanks KK and 648. But it is hard to describe it in text. I need to wait till my DC is back to my hand before capturing images for descibing to you. But I find that Sze's images are having (very much) fewer but the others have different degree of severity (distinguisable bands or abrupt change in colour). I can find significant differences to the Rufous-Backed Shrike images from two birders. I don't think this is halo artifacts. Attached is my poor quality image. I cannot see even a little of such problem on the same screen. The sky is bluish with very small scattered purple noise patterns from my cheap DC. Maybe the change in blue sky intensity is not as much as yours, thus not generating bands. I've checked my Topcon eTop3-150 LCD monitor again. It should not have big problem because I can view original photos from my poor quality DC without any such phenomena. Anyway, I cannot find the reason of the differences in photos in BBS from you birders.
