ok, hope this one is a slightly more interesting... It flew across the pond twice without warning but never landed, captured several frames by relfex action. But only this one is reasonably sharp. Purple Heron (草鷺) Mai Po (米埔) 3/12/2004 1D Mark II, EF600+1.4x f/5.6, 1/800s, iso500

Thanks for the suggestion, Hendrix. I found that I have a tendency to do less and less adjustments nowadays. Often after doing some adjustments, I am not satisfied with the color, the contrast or the overall look of the image. Agree that the image is a bit dark. But after trying several ways to increase brightness, I left it almost untouched. Perhaps my editing skills had been deterioating...

Tried again. I think this does look better after applying an S curve to boost brightness and contrast. Color saturation was also increased as a side effect...

Talking about reflex, this comes from experience!!!! A great PH shot that I'd like to have in my file too, Angus! You did justice to this shot to repost it, I like the slight increase in contrast and brightness ... KK Hui ARPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001
