Corrected to female Japanese Thrush.Neil. I hadn't seen the female before yesterday. I waited three hours hoping to see the male again and she turned up but not the male. She found a little water to bathe in as Bul-Buls were bathing nearby. I first thought this was the female Japanese Thrush so if my id is wrong please let me know. I used the Olympus on the scope as the noise from the D2x frightens some birds away.Neil. Lamma Island, Hong Kong, China. 09/02/06 Olympus 7070wz plus Swarovski 15.4 mm telescope eyepiece and Swarovski telescope adapter. http://www.pbase.com/neilfif11/image/55892343.jpg

Your first id was correct; this is an adult female Japanese Thrush, note the deep brown upperparts, the black spotting on the breast, all dark bill and limited orange on the flanks.
