I don't think this is a black kite- looks more like a crested goshawk. The general shape and colour are wrong for black kite. There seems to be a crest and the fluffy white feathers on the rump/vent are something I have seen on crested goshawk too. It's hard to see clearly but there are at least two dark bands on the tail- something you don't see on a black kite.
Well done! I've never seen one this close.
