Hi Pippen, Nice to meet you today! I think my flycatcher is a bit younger than yours (green back vs black back). Hence, they should not be father and son. BTW, I think we have 3 male Narcissus in Po Toi today. This is another one with some blue feathers in the shoulder:

Hi Lynx i think your bird is a green backed flycatcher (male), not the Narcissus Flycatcher. Kwok Jai

It would be possible the first record of Oive-backed Flycatcher in HK. It could be the race of owstoni for adult male. according to the reference: http://www.birdskorea.org/narcissustypes.asp Congratulation

Dear George, After studying the webpage you have referred to, I am convinced that though you are not the one who first saw this species /subspecies, you are the one who first positively identified it! (quoting Dr Cheung's term last year to describe his identification for the Japanese Cormorant) Congratulations to you! Of course congratulations to Lynx too, who first saw / photographed this very beautiful bird in Hong Kong. It is really cool to keep on discovering new things in Hong Kong!! Guess how many more years would it take for the Hong Kong's bird count to exceed 500? Can't wait to visit Potoi as soon as possible! Cheers. TH Kwan
