Maybe it's just me (viewing in Mozilla), but I can't see any of the photos Yip has posted today - a pity as I saw the Spoon-billed and the Litttle Stint and would love to see images of them. Mike Turnbull

Dear Yip, The bird shown in your photo is not a Spoon-billed Sandpiper. The bill shape looks strange but I think the bird just get some mud on the bill. Also, Simon Wong posted a photo of Spoon-billed Sandpiper. Please have a look of it and see the difference of the bill shape. Yat-tung Yu

This is a very strange phenomenon indeed! Desperately waiting to see pics of the Rosy Pipit - a beautiful bird which certainly made 14 May a Red (or Rosy!) Letter day for me, following the Spoon-billed Sand at Mai Po too. Mike Turnbull
