very beautiful waters like painted glasss in turquoise blue. The mallard seems a bit sleepy.

I was also at Jiu Zhai Gou and Huang Long between 19-21.9.2004. It was as crowded as the area in front of Sogo of Causeway Bay but the scenary was really good. I also saw one female Mallard (may or may not be the same one posted by Forrest) together with some Plumbeous Rdestarts at Wu Hua Hai (五花海). White-Capped Redstarts and other birds which I cannot recognised were also seen at Huang Long and 神仙池. No photos were taken as I am not an experienced birder nor a photographer. Looking forward to see more photos from Forrest.

Forrest, To my mind this is the nicest photo posted on the BBS for a long time. I know KK at his bird photograghy lecture said " never place the bird in the centre of the frame" but in this particular photo the framing is ideal and very pleasant to the eye. Bob

| Bob, I also said that what makes up a good photo is when the photographer thinks it's good ... I specially would like to see the beautiful upper wing patterns and colors of a Mallard! KK Hui ARPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001
