Riding on a boat in Yalu River鴨綠江 was quite an experience. We travelled close to the river bank on the North Korea side with this lovely bird suddenly stand proudly on a branch looking at us. So the photographer was actually in the common water shared by China and North Korea but the bird was perching in the territory of North Korea.
The Yalu River forms the western border of China and North Korea stretching from the city of Dandong 丹東市 to Tian Chi 天池 in Chang Bai Mountains長白山. It is a very important river for migratory ducks but it is not preserved.
