Goldcrest 戴菊 (in the hand of Madam Chu) 4/4/2005 Hun Chun琿春敬信鎮 Madam Chu is a retired bird enthusiast. She set up a ringing station by herself 3 years ago near Hun Chun. This is the first of its kind in Mainland China. By now, she has ringed more than 50000 birds. Her data is invaluable for the study of passerine migration in coastal East Asia. During our visit, she told us that there was a passage of yellow-throated bunting, rustic bunting and meadow bunting, coincided with our sightings. The goldcrest captured here was the first spring migrant this year. Goldcrest is so small and active that it is really difficult to get a close-up shot in the wild!
