We have confirmed 2 records of this owl in the central part of Heilongjiang (one discovered by Mr Liu Bowen (劉伯文老師) at Dailing and the other by Professor Chang Jiachuan (常家傳教授) at Maoer Shan) The previous distribution map of this owl only involves the northern part of Greater Hingan Range in the northernmost region of Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia. And this summer record is especially interesting! In the same area, there are already a pair of Ural Owls.
