From November to April, a series of trainings will be organized for Environmental Life Sciences of the University of Hong Kong. This aims to equip student's professional development by helping them to build up a capacity on bird watching, field identification, research and publicity affairs.     The activities will be run by Environmental Science graduates as facilitators in voluntary basis. They are also experienced bird watchers of HKBWS with relevant qualification in ecology. A field study trip was orgnized on 20th at Shek O. The trip cover a number of habitats including shrubland, woodland, coastal area, fishpond, wetlands and farmlands. Students were encourage to conduct bird counts at these habitats. Participants submitted their bird survey result for the workshop on 21 November.   It was an interesting experience, some of them were lucky enough to find the Slaty-backed Forktail and Striated Yuhinas.
