Dear members, Among all the species of birds found in Hong Kong, Black-faced Spoonbill is the one which has the smallest known population in the world. It was counted as 969 individuals in Jaunary 2002. Hence, it is also listed as a globally endangered species. As an endangered bird species, birdwatchers are always interested to it. Our society therefore open this page to let members get more information and also discuss this species. You are welcome to provide any information either in words or photo of this spoonbill. Regards Yu Yat Tung

Dear Tung & fellow bird watchers, Considering the number of great Black-faced Spoonbill photo's already posted on the board, I would like to offer 2 DVD's for the most interesting shots of Black-faced Spoonbill taken in the 2002-3 season. One DVD for the best photograph taken on film and one for the best digital still photo. The DVD consists of video I have taken of the BFS over several seasons Regards Bob Thompson Electric Shadow Ltd
