The Bulletin of a bird watching organization in Taiwan reported that a Barn Swallow family has learned to open an automatic door of a room for storing wood. This door happens to use a non-contact sensor for its opening. It can be opened after the Barn Swallow fly around in a small circle just in front of the door. The Swallow actually built a nest inside the store room. When it wish to fly out, it will fly around a small circle just inside the door, and so the door will be opened. I think researches will ultimately prove that most animals are almost as clever as human being. HF Cheung
