I recorded 36 species in the 1km square that stretches from Wu Kau Tang to Chung Mei (at the 'neck' of Plover Cover Reservoir), and includes Bride's Pool. Highlights of the day were 2 Crested Kingfishers and 2 Striated Herons near the bridge over the river leading into the reservoir, a flock of 25 Striated Yuhinas near Bride's Pool and lots of Red-flanked Bluetails at Wu Kau Tang, including two males out in the open together. It appears this cold weather is bringing a lot of Bluetails to HK. Geoff
