Angus & Daniel, you both have great shots - all we have to do is organise some more trips. Daniel, I love your 3rd shot against the rock face, its nice to see some color instead of HK's polluted sky as background Bob

Truly amazing shots you folks! Inspiring indeed!!!! My picks so far are ... Daniel CK Chan A perfect shot ... great down stroke, exposure control, and timing. Angus Lau Love seeing the stretched wing, perfect timing. Would probably tone down the white just a tad. 648 Great wing position for a head-on, sharp where it counts. Look forward to seeing more. Keep them coming ... KK Hui FRPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001

Beautiful shots they are, Angus! Love #1 & #5 in particular. I see some detail loss in the white plumage and suspect you overdid it when applying NR ... KK Hui FRPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001

kk, one major problem I have with the day's shoot was also the lack of details. I didn't apply any noise reduction while processing in PS. The only NR is probably the default color noise reduction applied by Capture One during raw conversion. Perhaps I should reduce or disable that. But I suspect it might have caused by hand holding on a rocking boat, even though I kept the ss at 1/2000s or higher...

| I'd disable the color NR in C1. Get your photo editing in PS except DEC and WB and you're more in control. I hate anything auto! I don't think the loss detail in white was contributed by the ss in this case. In fact I found 1/2000s is ideal for general shooting from a rocking boat with a 400mm lens. Pippen, Love those closeup shots of yours. I think using a 500/4 does make a difference! A must for my next shoot out on terns at sea ... KK Hui FRPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001

I was originally going to propose a prize for the best photo taken during the trip, luckily I didn't, as all the shots are outstanding and deserve 1st Place. Congratulations to you all Bob

| I agree with KK that a 500/4 is a must for next trip because of the details I love. However, I have already sold it for long time and I miss it very much. Maybe I should bring the 600/4 next time but I dare not to think about my arms......

Good shots oLDcaR. Love the #6 of the head turn & super background and opened wings of last one except a little bit over-sharpened (maybe due to my LCD mon )
