I have seen such parrotbills in Bai Bao Shan ("Golden" parrotbill) and Taiwan ("Blyth" parrotbill) respectively. Initially I thought they are different species because they bear different Latin names on the bird guides. When I tried to sort out the picture and videotape (unfortunately poor quality) of both trips and looked into books again, I noticed that they are so similar, both in appearance and calls. I think they belong to a same species. However the books are actually very confusing in the classification of this/these species:

1. ¤¤°ê³¥³¾¹ÏÅ² (»A³¾) - Chinese:¶Â³ï¾~³¶/¶À¦ÐÆx©C; English: Blyth's Parrotbill; Scientific: P.nipalensis; NO golden parrotbill/P. verreauxi

2. ¥xÆW³¥³¾¹ÏÅ² - Chinese: ¶À¦ÐÆx©C; English: Blyth's Parrotbill; Scientific: P.nipalensis

3. A Field Guide to the Birds of China (MacKinnon & Phillips)
(i)Chinese: ¾íÃB¾~³¶; Enlgish: Black throated Parrotbill; Scientific: P.nipalensis; present in China SW
(ii) Chinese: ª÷¶À¾~³¶; English: Golden Parrotbill; Scientific: P. verreauxi ; present in northorn Guangdong and Taiwan

4. ¥|¤t³¾Ãþì¦â¹ÏÅ² - Chinese: ¾íÃB¾~³¶;No English name given; Scientific: P.nipalensis; however the drawing is different from Phillips, more like a P. verreauxi verrauxi

I am very confused. Please help. ???

This is the only picture I got. Unforutnately the flash was not charged and I missed the only one opportunity. The image is too dark with backlit. However, it did show black cheek and  white "moustache" extending to nape. Blyth Parrotbill of Taiwan lacks this extension and and the cheek is reddish brown.
