The Kowloon Public Pier and by the shore of the Museum of Arts, Kites always soar and forage near coast.  sometimes, they soar by the ships.

At Wan Chai,

By the shore of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre New Wing, Kites soar and fly near the building (could photograph Kites mirrored by the window walls and soar through building structures.)

Some special tips on photograph a beautiful Kite ©çÄáº}«G³ÂÆNªº¯S§O¶K¤h ¡G

Since now is the moulting period (heavy moult) of Black Kites, it's quite usual to photograph a moulting Kite.  Or, this time,  the Kite juveniles has a beautiful and good plumage performance.  Later, around Oct, adult Kites are in better 'shape'.  :)

I think, generally, on either Kite plumage performance and population, Winter is a good season for Kite photographing.

Around, January to March, at the early of the  Kite breeding season, there's chance to photograph Kite's stick carrying, pairing.  Sometimes, they grab a large piece of white meterial soaring...

By the way,  two weeks ago I heard a birder said that there seen two Kite juveniles at TBT.  I want to take a look too.

Dear Dominic,

Thanks for your posting.  From the attached Kite flying photo, I saw the bird:
- Head plumages mostly light brown.
- Underparts heavily streaked.  
- Pale tips of greater coverts form a narrow pale line through mid-wing.
- Tail appears more rounded and not forked.

- ÀY³¡¦Ð¤ò²L´Ä¡C
- ³¾Å鸡¨­ºî¯Z©úÅã¡C
- ªì¦C¡B¦¸¦C¤jÂЦЪº²H¦â¦ÐºÝ¡A§Î¦¨¤@±ø²L¦â½u¤À¤¤¾î³e³¾Ál¡C
- §À¦Ð§e©·§Î¥¼¦¨¤e¡C

This looks mostly like a Kite juvenile ³ÂÆN¥®³¾.
