Dear all,

A recent report about SARS virus hits China trade in endangered animals.  Share with you.

In Hong Kong, there is an increase in number of people  going to rural areas for BBQ, boat trips to watch the dolphin, walking around TBT, etc.  The effect is still unknown, though...

Birders may take this good chance to introduce birdwatching to other people in the field.

At this stage we should refrain from saying the 'beneficial' effect of SARS - it will stir up negative effects in the general public. Be careful to use our words.

It is true that some actions have been taken in Guangdong to ban the wildlife trade because of SARS, but these actions have nothing to do with the 'Chunlei Xingdong' (Operation Spring Thunder), which ended on 19 April, the day before Hu Jintao acknowledged SARS was a real threat to China.

Of course I hope the SARS case will have a long-term effect to convince wildlife sellers and buyers that for their own sake they had better to leave the wild animals at where they should belong.

Some typing mistakes are found in both the content and the author name of your messages. :-[
