Title: Blue Whistling Thrush 紫嘯鶇 Post by Daniel CK Chan on Jun 5th, 2003, 11:35pm 298 Blue Whistling Thrush 紫嘯鶇 04/6/2003 Bride's Pools 新娘譚 EOS10D + EF100-400 IS, ISO400 http://www.danielckchan.com/pagephotos/b20030266-0600-200306041613.jpg http://www.hkbws.org.hk/fileServer/PhotoG/daniel_chan01/danielchanvwthrush01.jpg I had been Bride's Pools for leisure and hiking on 4 Jun 03, and brought my 10D + 100-400 combo in case of seeing birds. Luckily I met with this larger sizing woodland bird with my relatively portable combo, though the lighting and background condition was not good. I like its violet plumage. |

Title: Re: Violet Whistling Thrush 紫嘯鶇 Post by Daniel CK Chan on Jun 6th, 2003, 11:58pm KK, Mike & Hendrix, Thanks for your words. Hendix, I had seen the followings. There are many dragonflies and damselflies but also many people around. Since I had been there for lesiure and hiking mainly but not for bird watching or photography, I may overlook some birds around. 2 x Violet Whistling Thrush 紫嘯鶇 2 x Chestnut Bulbul 栗背短腳鵯 Some Crested Bulbul 紅耳鵯 & Chinese Bulbul 白頭鵯 & Great Tit 大山雀 Best Daniel ;) |

Title: Re: Violet Whistling Thrush 紫嘯鶇 Post by Griffin on Jun 13th, 2003, 11:52pm I really like the colour of the birds. Did it happen to hop within your sight? It looked as if it was going to get away. I went there too during Easter Holidays (who cares about that SARS anyway?) :P I only see 2 great tits, a gang of Japanese White eyes, a bunch of damsflies, moths, plus a micro mantis ( less than an inch long! ) on my tripod . Not as lucky as you are. :) See ya around. Griffin. |
