There are 6 Grey-headed Lapwings and at least 1 Red-rumped Swallow, and a cute Plaintive Cuckoo at Kam Tin today - 13/10

On Monday 14th October at Kam Tin there were seven Grey Headed Lapwings feeding very prominently on the mud in the river channel, with all the herons, egrets and a few small waders. They were very easily viewed from the small road which runs from Kam Tin alongside the river and under the east rail viaduct. I did not see any birds on the newly constructed 'wetlands' under the viaducts.

At Long Valley it seemed rather quiet (late morning and early afternoon) though a female plaintive cuckoo showed very well on the wires near the village and several black-winged stilts were feeding on ponds.

Thanks for your reply, Roger.
The newly constructed wetlands were rather quiet as you have said, and I think the vegetation there seemed absurd enough - I would be quite surprised to see any specialties there.
